PixelyChat is designed as a local desktop application. The core philosophy of our product is that your streaming data belongs to you. Therefore, we do not operate remote servers to process or store your chat messages.

2. Information We Collect

Because PixelyChat is a locally installed software application, the data it processes is highly restricted to your device.

  • Authentication Data: When you connect your streaming platforms, the application securely stores OAuth tokens locally on your machine.
  • Chat Data: The application fetches live chat messages from connected platforms solely to display them on your screen and generate local overlays.
  • Website Analytics: If you visit our official website (pixelychat.app), we may collect standard, anonymized web traffic data (such as browser type and referring pages) to monitor website performance.

3. Google OAuth & YouTube API Services

PixelyChat allows users to connect their YouTube accounts to read live chat messages from their own broadcasts. To provide this functionality, PixelyChat utilizes YouTube API Services and authenticates via Google OAuth.

  • Limited Use Disclosure: PixelyChat's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Data Access: We request read-only access to your YouTube live chat data. We do not request permissions to manage your YouTube account, upload videos, or delete content.
  • No Data Sharing: Information obtained via the YouTube API is stored exclusively on your local device. It is never transmitted to PixelyChat developers, nor is it sold or shared with any third party.
  • Revoking Access: You may disconnect your YouTube account at any time within the PixelyChat app. Furthermore, you can revoke PixelyChat's access to your Google account entirely by visiting the Google Security Settings page.

4. Twitch, Kick, and TikTok Integrations

PixelyChat uses official APIs and login flows for Twitch, Kick, and TikTok where applicable.

  • Authentication: Logging into these services through PixelyChat occurs via secure, platform-provided browser windows. PixelyChat never captures or views your passwords.
  • Data Processing: Chat messages, usernames, and channel data retrieved from these platforms are strictly processed locally to render your unified chat feed.

5. Data Retention

PixelyChat does not retain your data on external servers. All configuration files, cache, and authentication tokens are stored locally on your hard drive. Uninstalling the application and deleting its local AppData/Application Support folder will permanently erase this data from your device.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating directly with platform APIs (Google, Twitch, etc.). Locally, tokens are stored using the secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system via the Electron framework.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
